The Verdict is In

Last Sunday, I agreed to clean the cat rescue shelter 2 times this week for our beleaguered coordinator. Instead of my usual Thursday, we took Wednesday morning and Friday night. It seems it is much easier to find substitutes for weekdays than weekends.

On Wednesday, I took one look at Ben and knew it was ringworm. I called, spoke to the person in charge of cat health, she said it might not be, they were watching it, etc.

Friday night, I got there to clean and could smell the bleach from the parking lot.

Ben, Clint, and Duke all have ringworm, for certain. Inga and Cloe don't seem to have it yet, but are isolated in a cage to make sure they are clear, and if so, to make sure they don't get it. Joey was also exposed, and seems clear now, but he has an eye infection, so is isolated.

Meanwhile, they bleached the tar out of those two rooms. No one will be allowed in but us caretakers, and we will have to care for them last, and bleach our shoes and hands afterward.

Angel's eyes are looking infected again. Frieda spent the evening hissing and purring at the same time (Frieda is weird, even more so than most cats). Willy still seems depressed, but the proof that he is eating some is in the litter box. Miss Prissy loves to nip and swat at you, very, very gently. No damage when she does, but she is so playful that you can't clean anything without her under you or rolling in whatever you are sweeping, swatting and trying to gently nip at the same time.

Everybody else is doing well, as far as I could tell.

In honor of national humor month:

Women over 50 don't have babies because they would put them down and forget where they left them.

A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills... she has 14 kids but doesn't really care.

One of life's mysteries is how a 2-pound box of chocolates can make a woman gain 5 lbs.

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you are doing, someone else does.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.

I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers.

Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks 2 sizes!

Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like...'You know sometimes I forget to eat!' ....Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name and my keys, but I have never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special
kind of stupid to forget to eat!

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then
they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day!
